Bayan accompanying men folk choir

I remember some time ago, a woman from the Netherlands asked me to give an example of how bayan is being used in Ukraine with folk choirs. So, here it is, friends! :)

Why do good musicians with classical education from countries of the former Soviet Union (and others) have to play in the streets in major cases? Is there no demand for performances on serious stages? Is the world of bayan / accordion performers too narrow and there is not much space for everybody? What is Bayan?

Very often I am being ask what the f...ug is Bayan? And why don't I call it simply a "Button Accordion". I hope I gave a clear answer on my front page: www.volod.com.ua Today I've found on the Internet an interesting short documentary about it. Quite briefly, featuring Friedrich Lips and a nice story on making the Bayan. No way I wanted to make an advertisement for any factory or bayan maker, performer or place. Volodymyr Podgorny - Great Maestro passed away...

After being ill for several years Volodymyr (Vladimir) Podgorny left this world... Great Composer , great Performer , great Teacher . A man with huge passion and love for Music.
